Welcome to the 30-Day Pinterest Challenge for Growth and Sales!
If you’re a small business owner—especially a maker—this challenge is for you. Over the next 30 days, we’ll reset our Pinterest accounts, build a strategy, implement smart SEO practices, and ultimately drive more traffic and sales to our websites.
I’ve known for far too long that I’m underutilizing Pinterest—and maybe you feel the same way. That’s why I created this challenge with tiny, actionable tasks that even the busiest business owner can squeeze into their day (or tackle at the end of it).
If marketing is a major goal for you this year, let’s get started—together.
Week One: Laying the Foundation
This week is all about setting up the groundwork for long-term Pinterest success. We’re getting organized, on-brand, and ready to start pinning with purpose. Each day has a small, actionable task you can knock out in 15–30 minutes.
Day 1: Set Up a Pinterest Business Account
If you haven’t already, either create a Pinterest Business account or convert your personal one. Don’t skip this step—it gives you access to Pinterest analytics and important tools for growth.
➡️ Make sure to claim your website during setup.
This process may vary depending on your site platform, so follow Pinterest’s prompts and don’t hesitate to do a quick Google search if you get stuck!
Day 2: Brand Your Profile
Time to make your profile shine! Update the following to match your brand: Profile photo, Business name and username, Bio (add a little personality!), Website link
✨ Tip: Keep it cohesive and on-brand, so visitors immediately get a sense of who you are and what you offer.
Day 3: Create 5 Boards Based on Your Product Categories
Think about the different types of products you sell or topics you post about, and create a board for each. For example, I might do DIY Kits, Holiday Crafts for Kids, etc.
Don’t overthink it—just organize your content in a way that makes sense for your audience.
Day 4: Add Board Descriptions Using Keywords
Now that you have your boards, give each one a description filled with search-friendly keywords.
Ask yourself: What would someone type into Pinterest to find my products or content?
Pinterest is a search engine—this is where the SEO magic starts.
Day 5: Design 3 Branded Pin Templates in Canva
We LOVE Canva around here—and especially the Pro version. It’s worth every penny! One of our favorite features is the Brand Kit, which lets you save your logo, colors, and fonts.
Create three simple, scroll-stopping pin templates that align with your brand. Use them for blogs, products, lead magnets, or services. This will save you so much time later.
Day 6: Pin 5 High-Quality Pins From Others
Pinterest is a curation platform—it’s not all about self-promotion. Today, find and pin at least five high-quality pins from other creators or businesses that align with your brand and audience.
Why? Because curating valuable content builds trust and positions your account as a go-to resource.
Day 7: Content Planning + Graphic Creation
Let’s start putting your ideas in motion. Today is all about planning and prepping your own content.
Ask yourself: What blog posts can I write and pin? What products do I want to feature? Are my product pages Pinterest-worthy (think vertical, clean images)? Can I promote a service in image form?
Use your Canva templates to start designing a few graphics. Jot down ideas and start sketching out a content plan—you don’t need to overcomplicate it!
🎉 Quick Note:
In honor of Mother’s Day (and my birthday!), we’ll take a quick break before jumping into Week 2. That means if you’re just now joining the challenge, you’ve got a little extra time to catch up!
